Altron raised its interim dividend 15% to 55 cents after headline earnings per share from continuing operations rose 14% to 109 cents in the six months to 31 August 2026.
Revenue from continuing operations rose 5% to R5.1 billion from R4.8 billion. Operating profit rose 13% to R622 million, and net profit after tax rose 17% to R385 million, according to the group’s unaudited results announced on 2 November. The company has not had the figures reviewed by its auditors.
Where the growth came from
Platforms, which hold Netstar, Altron FinTech and Altron HealthTech, grew revenue 8% to R2.4 billion. Annuity revenue in the segment rose 11% to R2.2 billion and made up 92% of Platforms revenue, against 89% a year earlier. Platforms contributed 47% of group revenue, 93% of EBITDA and more than 95% of operating profit.
Altron FinTech raised revenue 14% to R858 million and operating profit 17% to R300 million. The number of debit orders on its platform and their value both grew 14%, and rentals of point-of-sale devices rose 61% to more than 30,000.
Netstar’s revenue rose 6% to R1.3 billion as annuity revenue grew 11%, partly offset by lower hardware sales. Its subscriber base grew 8% to 2.3 million, and churn stayed at about 16%.

IT Services and Altron Security
IT Services revenue rose 4% to R2.5 billion, the segment’s first growth after two years of restructuring, the company said. Its operating profit rose 62% to R99 million. Altron Digital Business moved to an operating profit of R22 million from an operating loss of R42 million.
Altron Security went the other way. Revenue fell 18% to R207 million and EBITDA fell 53% to R37 million. Altron attributed this to the timing of software revenue recognition in its identity and digital signing platform and to constrained enterprise spending. It said management had started corrective action in the IT Services part of the business.
Distribution, which is Altron Arrow, grew revenue 35% to R388 million.
Cash, dividend and the CEO’s comment
Cash generated from continuing operations rose 32% to R1.0 billion. Altron paid out R755 million in dividends in June 2026 and still closed the period with net cash of more than R800 million, it said.
The 55 cent dividend follows a policy of paying at least 50% of headline earnings from continuing operations. Chief executive Werner Kapp said the results were “a strong start to our Transformative Growth strategy”.
Altron also said its B-BBEE ownership was re-rated at 63% Black-owned, up from 38%.
Group results from total operations, which include the effect of Nexus in the prior period, showed headline earnings per share of 108 cents, up 24%. Altron disposed of Nexus effective 1 August 2025.
The last day to trade with the dividend is Tuesday, 17 November 2026, and the payment date is Monday, 23 November.
